Shoes removal shouldn't get in way of people mourning their dead - Kelvin Davis

From Morning Report, 7:28 am on 16 November 2018

A Serco prison officer is being labelled rude and anti-Maori for refusing to take his shoes off when he escorted an inmate on to an Auckland marae for the tangi of Herbs musician Tama Renata. The officer was handcuffed to Mr Renata's son and ignored three requests to remove his shoes. Kelvin Davis is the Minister of both Corrections and Crown/Maori relations. He discusses the tikanga with Susie Ferguson.
