Property law must be fairer for migrants - lawyers

Lawyers are warning more needs to be done to protect migrants from losing millions of dollars in property disputes. The Law Commision has published proposals to make property law fairer and easier to understand - but it could be some time for these changes to come into effect. A recent Otago University study shows people not born in New Zealand are more likely to be caught out by the current law and entire family fortunes can be lost.
