Paper cuts: 'Every community needs its voice'

A proposal to slash local journalists in Auckland has some people worrying their communities will fall off the news radar - and make their leaders unaccountable. Stuff owns 13 community papers - the freebies that turn up in your letterbox - across Auckland and Northland. But it's planning to lay off most of the journalists who fill them - and who also provide online content to Stuff. That'll leave communities with populations bigger than some New Zealand cities with no journalists dedicated to covering their stories. Rowan Quinn reports
