Amnesty International is hoping a last ditch effort will convince the government to keep a refugee programme running. The programme which was launched at the beginning of the year in Nelson, Christchurch, Timaru and Waikato helps refugees find a place to live, become employed, and connect to local services they may need. Amnesty International's executive director is Tony Blackett.
