True crime numbers seven times more than police aware are of

New Zealand has been given a snapshot of the true volume of crime in this country in a new Crime and Victims survey. It found 1.8 million offences were committed over the last year, about seven times the number identified by police. The study also found less than a quarter of people are willing to make a complaint to police.
