A reverend who housed nine Indian students in his church to stop them being deported wants the Government to stop sitting on its hands and make a call on the students' fate. The group took refuge in Auckland's Unitarian Church two years ago, when the then-National Government declared they had to leave New Zealand. Labour MPs Jacinda Ardern and Andrew Little - in opposition at the time - publicly advocated for the students' before their deporation. The church leader, Clay Nelson, has been quietly lobbying MPs to decide on the students' visa applications, and speaks to Alex Perrottet.
