Weather: Heatwave set scene for Nelson fire

Low rainfall, high sunshine hours, a heatwave and widespread dry conditions have been described as perfect conditions for a fire in Nelson which has burned for the last three days. This week NIWA released its monthly climate summary for all of New Zealand but it's the Tasman area that's looking especially tinder-dry.
