NZ's Vietnam veterans formally recognised in ceremonies

From Morning Report, 6:16 am on 14 February 2019

Thirty Vietnam War veterans will have their bravery and exceptional service formally recognised in ceremonies at Government House in Auckland and Wellington over the next two days. Veterans' groups have been advocating for greater acknowledgment of soliders who received mentions in despatches - an honour that these days would include a formal military parade. Veterans' Affairs Minister Ron Mark told our reporter Sarah Robson that recognising those soldiers who went above and beyond the call of duty has been a long time coming.
