Gun law reform: 'We're prepared to do something' - Police Minister

From Morning Report, 7:27 am on 22 March 2019

Police Minister Stuart Nash says he is expecting pushback from the gun lobby after the announcement that military-style semi-automatic guns and assault rifles will be banned in New Zealand.

"When people talk about 'we need more time', John Howard had a really good line, he said 'this is code for doing nothing'. We're prepared to do something... By April 11, military-style semi-automatics and assault weapons will be banned in NZ," Mr Nash tells Susie Ferguson.
