Largest Provincial Growth Fund payments to be audited

From Morning Report, 8:30 am on 17 April 2019

The Audit Office is going to take a targeted look at some of the payments made from the $3 billion Provincial Growth Fund. It's already audited two payments made by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. While they didn't raise any major problems, the Auditor-General did tell the Ministry to tighten up management of the fund, which is strewn across a number of government agencies, raising the risk of some payments going astray. Colleen Pilgrim from the office of the Auditor-General, told RNZ business reporter Madison Reidy that it's now it's going to follow up on those recommendations and take a closer look at the other payments and agencies involved.
