From Morning Report, 8:56 am on 23 April 2019

A pacific golden plover bird, or kuriri, which is being tracked as part of a research project has touched down in Japan. The Pukorokoro Miranda Shorebird Centre on the Hauraki Gulf is tracking the birds using satellite tags as they travel to the arctic and back, to learn more about their migration habits. Amanda is the first bird to land, she's on the Japanese island of Honshu near Tokyo. Jim Eagles is the project coordinator.
