Govt spurns advice that lowering blood alcohol saves lives

Official papers show Cabinet went against Transport Ministry advice that lowering the adult blood alcohol level could save as up to 33 lives a year and the country almost $240 million. An official information request made by Radio New Zealand shows the Government ignored the advice in favour of deferring a decision for two years.
