The Maori Party candidate for Te Tai Tonga, Rahui Katene, says one of her top priorities is making sure all Maori communities in her electorate come on board with Whanau Ora; A descendant of a Te Whakatohea chief, who was wrongly accused and executed in the 1860s, says her ancestor's finally getting a proper pardon; A rural North Island tribe is considering investing in the dairy industry, after taking a step closer to settling its outstanding Treaty of Waitangi claim; The Tasman District Council has agreed to a request by local iwi to appoint a kaumatua, in an effort to enhance its understanding of Maori priorities.
