Maori in Hawke's Bay say a Regional Council decision to establish a new planning committee, which will give Maori a greater say in the management of natural resources, is a major step forward; Te Arawa Lakes Trust Chariperson, Toby Curtis, says an idea to set up a Te Arawa parliament may be based on the Waikato-Tainui structure; A Waikato-Tainui Spokesperson, Rahui Papa, says his iwi would be more than willing to help Te Arawa set up a tribal parliament; The Chairman of Ngati Ranginui from Tauranga, says it was an honour to have the Maori King present at the initialling of a deed of settlement for all the iwi's historical Treaty claims.
