Submissions to the Maori Economic Development Panel on ways to improve the performance and productivity of the Maori economy have now closed; The Mana Wahine Action Group in Whangarei is pitching in to help behind locked out meat workers and their families at AFFCO's Moerewa plant in Northland; The Meat Workers Union Site Secretary at the Moerewa plant, says the fact only 18 union members have decided to sign individual contracts and go back to work, shows the resolve of workers to tough it out; A Blenheim marae says a significant renovation project has provided the opportunity to establish new relationships with the local community, and reinforce links with people it already deals with.
