National grid project on target for completion.

The country's largest infrastructure projects - and one of the most controversial - is on target to be completed by the end of the year. The $824 million project for a new transmission line from South Waikato to Auckland, was to a large extent designed to protect Auckland from being blacked out, following the power crisis in the city in 1998.
