John Banks to face trial for alleged election fraud

The man whose private prosecution resulted in the Act Party leader John Banks being forced to stand trial says he should now resign from Parliament. A High Court judge has upheld a District Court decision and ruled Mr Banks should stand trial in the High Court for alleged election fraud during his 2010 Auckland mayoral bid.
