One in five NZ kids lives in poverty

Patchy and too slow is how the United Nations is describing progress for New Zealand children. The UN agency, Unicef, has published a report looking at the extent to which New Zealand is carrying out its legal obligations under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. While there is some praise, the report makes grim reading.
