Marine mammal conservation conference opens in Dunedin

More than one-thousand delegates from around the world have gathered in Dunedin this week to discuss topics ranging from sperm whale vocalisations in Tonga, to the presence of tusks in prehistoric New Zealand dolphins. The University of Otago is holding the the 20th Biennial Conference on the Biology of Marine Mammals, which is thought to be the largest conference the city has hosted in a decade.
