Jeff Tweedy’s response to the critics' view that Wilco has traversed the scale from ‘edgy’ and ‘out-there’ to ‘dad rock’ in five easy albums.
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, and Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner Mavis Staples has found an unlikely and prosperous bond with Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, who produced her latest album, the critically lauded You Are Not Alone.
After garnering a following singing covers on Youtube, then scoring a UK number one with her cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s ‘The Power of Love’ the UK singer songwriter joins us to play some songs of her own.

Slipstream has been hailed as one of Bonnie’s strongest albums. Some of the credit goes to producer Joe Henry, who has also worked with the likes of Allen Toussaint, Loudon Wainwright III, Solomon Burke and Bettye LaVette, to name a few. Bonnie talks about finding Joe and how she broke it to her other band.
After retiring the name and the repertoire of Her Make Believe Band, Cy Winstanley and Vanessa McGowan are embracing their country music cravings. They’ve just brought home their first Tattletale Saints album after a series of memorable sessions with Tom O’Brien in Nashville.
This well-travelled Melbournian sax-man talks about the welcoming atmosphere of New York and New Zealand jazz clubs, and how learning Latin dance has bent his tunes into new shapes.
