For the past four years, Auckland-based 10 piece group Te Vaka have been placing their contemporary Pacific sounds on the world music map, completing two international tours to places as diverse as Sweden, Spain and Estonia.

Band leader, singer and guitarist Opetaia Foa'i joins this episode of Musical Chairs in 1999 to talk about their career to date, including the 1997 self-titled debut, and the 1999 album Ki Mua.
