Today on Musical Chairs John Dix - New Zealand's own Hunter S Thompson of rock - tells it like it was. John Dix got hooked on the sound of Kiwi legends Max Merritt and the Meteors and the La De Das while he was in Australia. He jumped the ditch to escape being drafted during the Vietnam War and after serving his time as a rock journalist and road manager for various tours, the notes in his diary and taped interviews began looking suspiciously like the beginning of a book.
