VIDEO: Carnivorous Plant Society 'Journey of the Sacred Crystal'

From RNZ Music, 3:00 pm on 20 February 2018

John Campbell once described their music as 'a shining, uplifting delight'. The genre-bending Carnivorous Plant Society have given us an exclusive look at their cool new video for 'Journey of The Scared Crystal' from their forthcoming second album 'The New King'.

The video was made by the band's main songwriter and co-founder Finn Scholes, whose creations - of which there are many - are projected on stage during their shows.

'Journey of The Scared Crystal' will appear on the group's forthcoming second album 'The New King', which is set for release on March 16.

The Auckland-based band have also just released the first single from the album - 'Car Dance', and they've announced a tour of the North Island - full dates below.

Carnivorous plant Society describe their music as 'Mexican mariachi mixes with spaghetti western; flavours of futuristic sci-fi blend with bizarre, spine-chilling nuances drawn from Stephen King novels.

They often perform with guest vocalists including Tiny Ruins, Bic Runga, Aaradhna, Neil Finn and Lawrence Arabia.
