Sharon Van Etten announces New Zealand show

From RNZ Music, 9:24 am on 24 January 2019

New York singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten has announced she'll play one New Zealand show only at Auckland's Powerstation on Wednesday, 5 June.

RNZ was lucky enough to have the singer perform live for us back in 2015 when she played a number of intimate shows around New Zealand.

Van Etten has just released her new album Remind Me Tomorrow, which critics are calling a 're-invention'.

The singer famously brought former Checkpoint presenter John Campbell to tears when she performed for him on his TV3 current affairs show Campbell Live.

The last few years have been busy for Van Etten: she became a mother, returned to school to study psychology, she guest starred in Netflix’s hit series The OA, performed on David Lynch’s Twin Peaks revival, and wrote the score for Katherine Dieckmann’s movie Strange Weather.

Tickets go on sale at 9am, Thursday, 31 January at undertheradar.co.nz.

Sharon Van Etten will play with her full band at The Powerstation, Auckland on 5 June 2019.
