Live at WOMAD: Experimental Estonian duo Maarja Nuut & Ruum

From RNZ Music, 12:30 pm on 17 March 2019

RNZ Music was lucky enough to record an intimate live session with Estonian experimental electronic duo Maarja Nuut & Ruum. They performed their darkly evocative track ‘The Lost Geese’.

“There’s a young woman who’s keeping some birds. Geese. But a big wind comes and takes them away. So she goes home, asks her mother to make her hair nice, and bake some bread for the journey.

“While on her way trying to find them, she meets all sorts of different creatures hidden behind ordinary names, until in the end she’s led to an old country house.

“There’s a big party. Lots of food and drinks, and very nice furniture. She’s asked to sit behind the table only to realise, that all of this around her, was made of her own birds.”
