Goon are an Auckland rock trio based around the songs of singer-guitarist Christian Wray. While they're possibly better known for wildly amusing music videos and the two men in the band running round starkers, Wray's songs about broken hearts, making love and surfing are actually made of deeper stuff - and on their newly released debut 'Boy Girl Boy', Wray and Goon stake a claim on NZ pop-rock's highest peaks. Unfortunately for Goon there's been a bit of a lull with that all-too familiar story of revolving drummers with founding sticksman (and noted architect) Gary Lawson vacating the drummer's stool - but Goon are now back on track with Andrew Taylor taking up the sticks.
