Post-punk band Killing Joke is still going strong after being formed by Jaz Coleman in 1978. After the usual personnel changes and breakups, the original four bandmembers are back together and touring. They have also just released a new studio album, the uncompromising 'Absolute Dissent'. Although he was born in the UK, Jaz Coleman is also a New Zealand citizen. Among his accomplishments are founding Auckland's York Street Studios. One of his next goals is to set up a European-Pacific Academy Of Arts which will be based in New Zealand. Coleman also has a parallel career in classical music that has also brought him worldwide acclaim. In fact, he has become the first New Zealand citizen to be made Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture for his contribution to contemporary music.
