Over a decade after Godfrey de Grut and Che Fu won the nation's most coveted song-writing prize, the Silver Scroll, for their song 'Misty Frequencies', de Grut is back as the Scrolls' musical director. He tells us how he acquired his masterful skills and what he's doing to pass them on to another generation of players.

Godfrey de Grut first came to prominence with The New LoungeHead, whose recording Came A Weird Way won the 1997 RIANZ Jazz album of the year.
In 2002 keyboardist, composer and ensemble arranger de Grut and co-writer Che Fu won the nation’s most coveted song-writing prize - the Silver Scroll - for the song Misty Frequencies.
In 2013 Godfrey de Grut was given the role of the musical director for the Silver Scroll Awards ceremony.
He tells us how he acquired his masterful skills and what he's doing to pass them on to another generation of players.
