Alyn Ware, NZ peace campaigner who is a joint winner of the 2009 Right Livelihood Award for his "effective and creative advocacy and initiatives over two decades to further peace education and to rid the world of nuclear weapons". The Right Livelihood Award was set up by the Swedish parliament in 1980 and is widely known as the aternative Nobel Peace Prize - "to honour those offering practical and exemplary answers to the most urgent challenges facing us today".
