The Securities Commission is going after listed chemical company Nuplex Industries and some of its current and former directors. This is the first case relating to the requirement on companies to continously disclose any market sensitive information. One of the directors of the company being prosecuted, David Jackson, is a member of the Securities Commision itself.

Shannon - nestled at the foot of the Tararua Ranges between Levin and Palmerston North, is moderately famous for the wildlife park Owlcatraz, which was home to Big Red, the world's largest cow, who died in April 2004.
