Auckland-based writer and journalist Garth Gilmour has just released his 21st book, Running for Our Lives - How Auckland Joggers Inspired a World-Wide Revolution, published by Auckland Joggers Club Inc.

Since 1960 Garth helped Arthur Lydiard write more than a dozen training manuals and jogging philosophies, which have been published in several languages. He has also written biographies of Olympic gold medallists Peter Snell and Murray Halberg, paraplegic world champion Eve Rimmer and ultra-marathon runner Sandra Barwick.

Dr Richard Webby is based at the St Jude Centre of Excellence for Influenza Research in Memphis. He was closely involved in the development of the first H5N1 bird flu vaccine in 2004, and is director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Studies on the Ecology of Influenza. 

Dr Webby is one of the keynote speakers at the University of Otago's Public Health Summer School.
