09:20 A multi-agency approach to child protection

Nigel Richardson is the director of Children's Services for Leeds City Council in the UK. He is responsible for leading a multi-agency approach to improving the lives of the city's 180,000 children and young people. His visit to comes amid the NZ Government's 10 year Children's Action Plan, which aims to fundamentally change the approach to children and the way the most vulnerable are protected. The Vulnerable Children Bill underpins the plan. It is currently before select committee and introduces a range of measures.
