Government Science Advisors meet in Auckland

Science advisors to governments around the world are meeting in Auckland this week to discuss how they might strengthen science advice to decision makers grappling with major global challenges. In particular the impact of climate change, food security, global pandemics and antibiotic resistance. Britain's chief science advisor is Sir Mark Walport, the former head of Medicine at London's Imperial College where he lead research on the immunology and genetics of rheumatic diseases.
