16 year old student on how to encourage youth to vote

16 year old high school student, Louise McNally of Strathallan ACG College in Karaka has won the Association former Members of Parliament's national essay competition. She had to answer the question: How would you increase young people's understanding and participation in our democratic process? Louise McNally argues that students in all schools should elect classroom leaders to stimulate interest in the political process, and engagement in democracy.
