Threats to renewable energy industry

As the UN's climate change panel warns governments to rapidly transition to renewables to avoid climate disaster - why are some governments still continuing to put barriers in the way of clean energy? Australia's government is planning to cut its renewable energy target from 41,000 gigawatt hour to 27,000 gigawatt hours - which clean energy experts say will destroy the country's renewable energy industry. The international law firm Baker and McKenzie has analysed the impact of the Australian reduction in Renewable energy targets, or RET's. It says it will have a serious impact on the renewable sector - scaring off investors and making existing and future projects financially unviable. The author of the report is Paul Curnow
