Ferguson community leader after grand jury verdict

From Nine To Noon, 9:08 am on 26 November 2014

In the wake of a grand jury's decision not to indict white police officer Darren Wilson for the killing of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown, protests have erupted in Ferguson, Missouri. Community leader Brittany Packnett is a newly appointed member of the Ferguson Commission, a group of 16 community leaders set up by the state Govenor, to study the "underlying issues" raised by the protests, and formulate policy recommendations in 10 months time. She is the executive director of Teach For America St. Louis, and has been part of the coalition organising in-person and online protests such as the Don't Shoot campaign.
