A manned re-entry into the Pike River mine will go ahead, and is expected to take place in February next year.

The Pike River Recovery Agency recommended a single entry approach as the safest and most appropriate option.

The total estimated cost of the recovery has been put at $36 million.

Lynn Freeman speaks with Anna Osborne, whose husband Milton died in the mine, Dave Gawn the Chief Executive of the Pike River Recovery Agency and Rob Fyfe the government's independent adviser on the plans for the re-entry of the Pike River mine.
