Feature Guest - Piera McArthur
Piera McArthur began painting in earnest during a 1973 coup in Chile that confined her to the NZ diplomatic compound. She and her husband diplomat John McArthur lived in Paris three times, where expat artist Douglas MacDiarmid became her mentor. They were also posted to Moscow, where she was the first New Zealander to have a solo show at the New Tretiakov Gallery.
