Kapiti Seedbank

From New Zealand Society, 2:20 pm on 3 October 2014

Anna Butterfield sees seeds as cultural artefacts, with each bean or seed carrying the story of its cultivation.

And when you consider there are 300,000 edible plants in the world – and we only eat around 2,000 of those – AND over 75 percent of that is restricted to a mere 12 plant varieties worldwide – maybe there's room for growth, especially in our own back gardens.

Amelia Nurse joins Anna Butterfield from the Kapiti Seedbank in her kitchen with a cup of freshly brewed tea to discuss seeds.
