Learning the tricks of the IT trade just got a lot easier for Kylee Maloney. From the comfort of her home north of Wellington, Kylee's logging on to a virtual tutorial site. And with the help of a training course that's compatible with her screen reader, Kylee's blindness isn't a barrier as she connects with her fellow blind and vision impaired students.

Tutors Jackie McBride in Arizona and Melbourne based Elise Lonsdale are part of a volunteer team connected with the Cisco Networking Academy for the Vision Impaired (CAVI). That's an IT training programme supported by Curtin University in Perth, Australia. And the man who got it all up and running is Curtin University's senior Lecturer in data communications, Doctor Iain Murray. Dr Iain Murray says CAVI was just the beginning of something much bigger.
