Every year, Te Papa plays host to an event that marks the day in December set aside by the United Nations to acknowledge disabled people. While it's an opportunity to focus on disability rights issues, in 2010 there's more of an air of celebration. Dance, music and theatre accompany the launch of the Dance and Disability Strategy.

The alternative, non-government think tank has responded to the Welfare Working Group's issues and options paper, with its own reports. They signal the intention of Welfare Justice to pursue a relentless focus on welfare.
