Brazilian economist and author Eduardo Giannetti is the New Zealand Prime Minister's Fellow, under the Latin America Strategy, and is visiting New Zealand to discuss this country's relationship with Brazil, which has the tenth largest economy in the world.

8:30 Dr Stephen Shore

President emeritus of the Asperger's Association of New England, Dr Stephen Shore was diagnosed as a child with "atypical development with strong autistic tendencies" and recommended for institutionalisation. Nonverbal until the age of four, he now presents and consults internationally on issues discussed in his books Beyond the Wall: Personal Experiences with Autism and Asperger Syndrome, Ask and Tell: Self-advocacy and Disclosure for People on the Autism Spectrum, and the critically acclaimed Understanding Autism for Dummies. Stephen Shore is a keynote speaker at Making the Connections, the National Conference on Autism Spectrum Disorders at the Grand Chancellor Hotel, Christchurch from 12 to 14 September.

9:05 Hamish Keith

Self-styled cultural curmudgeon Hamish Keith returned to national attention last year with his television series and book The Big Picture: a history of New Zealand art from 1642 (Godwit, ISBN: 978-1-96962-132-2). He tells his personal story in the revealing memoir, Native Wit (Godwit, ISBN 978-1-86941-843-4). Hamish Keith will feature in conversation with Bob Harvey from 4:00pm on 20 September as part of the Literary Weekend at the Going West Books and Writers Festival in the Titirangi War Memorial Hall.

Arthur Meek has been touring New Zealand with the satirical solo performance, On the Conditions and Possibilities of Helen Clark Taking Me as Her Young Lover, written by Richard Meros and directed by Geoff Pinfield, and currently playing at Wellington's Downstage Theatre (12-20 September). Arthur Meek is also a member of Billy T Award nominees The Lonesome Buckwhips, "Dunedin's finest family band", who reunite for three Charity Gala performances at Downstage on 29 and 30 September, and 1 October.
