Late Night Phil – Emerson Lake and Palmer - Pictures At An Exhibition

This album was recorded on March the 26th, 1971 at Newcastle City Hall in North East England. The opening track of the album was played on a pipe organ which was installed in the City Hall in 1928. The organ console is way above stage level, at the top of a stepped terrace used for choral performances, so the drum roll connecting the opening track to the next gave Keith Emerson just enough time to run back down to the stage.
