miniatures exhibition

Houses of all descriptions, a hotel and surrounding parkland, even a lighthouse with adjoining long drop dunny - and they all belong in Lilliput land. This huge collection of miniatures would have been déjà vu for Gulliver.

Nearly 300 people from all corners of the country, whose hobby is to build on a tiny scale, have brought their exhibits to Hutt city's horticultural hall.

This is doll's house heaven but the theme is international: across the aisle from a delicately detailed Georgian mansion is a Swiss chalet.

Jack Perkins puts on his spectacles and takes a tour of Lilliput land.
