Ludo's Story

Ludo Campbell Reid is the chief urban design planner for Auckland City (well, until the supercity happens anyway). Ludo is English-Scottish-South African with Austrian ancestry. He spent some of his childhood in South Africa and thinks of himself as African.

When Ludo first came to Auckland, he thought he had landed at the wrong place because a sign outside said 'Welcome to Manukau City'. Now he wants to create an Auckland waterfront where Aucklanders can be close to the water; can touch the water.

Ludo tells his story to Sapna Samant as they wander through downtown Auckland and check out a K class classic yacht at Westhaven.
