An inside look into life as a hut warden

The Abel Tasman national park was opened on the 18 December 1942 to mark the 300th anniversary of Abel Tasman's visit.

Trampers visiting the park this summer will be greeted by a warden as they make themselves at home in one of the many Department of Conservation-operated huts within the park.
