9:06 Mediawatch

Mediawatch investigates the efforts made to cover the local elections, and how the media might meet the challenge of reporting Auckland's new Super City. The programme also looks at reports of media misbehaviour from the Commonwealth Games in India; and the comments which generated a record number of complaints to TVNZ this week - then became a diplomatic issue.
Produced and presented by Colin Peacock and Jeremy Rose.

9:40 Ian Montanjees - White Roofs Project

Marking the 350 Global Climate Working Bee on 10/10/10, Auckland engineer Ian Montanjees is launching the White Roofs project to reduce global warming. Ian says the idea is to mimic the way that polar icecaps reflect sunlight back into space and cool the planet, by painting a significant number of roofs white. And he's not alone - the idea is being seriously considered by the Obama administration and pushed by the US Secretary of Energy Dr Steven Chu.

10:06 Richard Boock - Bert Sutcliffe

Sports journalist and columnist Richard Boock brings together the life's work of cricketing legend Bert Sutcliffe and his biographer Rod Nye in a new book, 'The Last Everyday Hero: The Bert Sutcliffe Story'. Sutcliffe was a giant of post-war cricket who died in 2001 aged 77. Nye was still writing the biography of Sutcliffe's life and career when he died in 2004. Now Richard Boock (below right) has finished Nye's tribute to Sutcliffe and he shares with Chris some of the stories he found.
