Whanganui iwi descendants are making their way 60-kilometres up the river to witness the signing of their tribe's Treaty of Waitangi Settlement with the Crown. A New Zealand born artist, who in the 1980's started work on a bronze bust of the first Maori King, Potatau Te Wherowhero is hoping to be able to gift the work to the current Maori King. The eastern Bay of Plenty iwi of Tuhoe will officially open one of its four tribal medical centres in about a week's time.
