A Ngati Hine leader has told the Waitangi Tribunal the Crown has opened old wounds - and enmities - in its drive to settle the Ngapuhi claim; King Tuheitia and the Hamilton City Council are to meet this Friday to discuss the gifting of a sculpture of the first Maori King, Potatau Te Wherowhero. A Senior Lecturer says more research is needed into why tangata whenua aren't going in to hospices; Tainui Group Holdings says it's pleased with an interim decision to allow it to build a large freight, commercial and residential development at Ruakura on the outskirts of the city.
