Mixing the sounds of Nigeria, Jamaica and his homeland Ghana, band-leader Yaw Boateng finally has a record to match his vision. While the first Zoh Zoh album is a souvenir of the groups early days rehearsing in suburban Auckland the new record, Lady, captures their infectious live energy, as Nick Atkinson found out.
Play It Strange runs a number of educational initiatives to promote songwriting in schools including the Junior Lyric Writing Competition.
